The Club's achievements in 2024, by President Travis Holland.
What a year the club has had, but there's always more to do! Here are a few things to note as the calendar year draws to a close:
- Our Interact club has raised and donated over $2000 to two charities in the ACT
- Members have so far this year individually donated around $800 to the Rotary Foundation online
- We upported District fundraising of over $2000 during the District Conference
- We took numerous other roles in support of the District Conference and our very own District Governor Rob Uhl
- We donated $500 to the Assissi Centre in Uganda
- We are sponsoring an attendee at the National Youth Science Forum in January
- We have sponsored an attendee at RYPEN
- We are supporting an outbound youth exchange student, Lucy Noakes, on her way to France in coming weeks
- We supported the annual Floriade gnome painting in Canberra
- We are supporting numerous other clubs with their regular service projects including Blayney Toy Library, Bathurst Cycling Festival, Beers and Gears in Wagga, and many more!
I also want to recognise Rotarian Bruce Harvey who joined Rotary in 1993 and our club in 2013. Bruce has decided to hang up his Rotary apron at 31 December. Thank you for your service and companionship, Bruce!
Thank you to those who attended our Christmas Party in Goulburn, and to Jenny Lovekin and Rob Uhl for organising. There are a couple of pictures below.
For those of you not at the AGM, we elected the following positions for 2025-26. Thank you to those who nominated for your willingness to serve:
- Secretary Alana Saunders
- Treasurer Ros Prangnell
- Foundation Director Jenny Lovekin
- Youth Director Sally Hearder
- Public Image Director Travis Holland
- Public Officer Beth Woolley
- Protection Officer Jenny Lovekin
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas period. There is much more to come for our wonderful club in the new year. The club will next meet on January 23 but feel free to stay in contact with members through our Facebook group, or email, or in person until then.
