23rd of July Meeting Recap
The meeting featured guest speaker, Sally Lean, who shared her inspiring journey from childhood dreams of becoming an Olympic equestrian to a career in international education, including her experiences teaching in China and Singapore. She discussed her current work in coaching and her goal to found a bilingual school in Australia.
The club also discussed the acceptance of a new member, Garth Perkin, and updates on various projects, including The Greater Good Scholarship, website improvements, and fundraising initiatives like a pie drive and involvement in the Gnomes event in Canberra. Reports were given on Rotary Foundation donations, youth programs, and the activities of exchange student Carmel.
13th of August Meeting Recap
Meg reported that the RYPEN had been postponed to November due to low participation and scheduling conflicts.
The group discussed upcoming opportunities including Gears and Beers in Wagga on the 3rd and 4th of October where we could volunteer and earn $150 per person per day for the club by assisting with marshalling.
Travis shared information about New South Wales being split into two districts, with the change scheduled for mid-2028.
Beth proposed selling Rotary Christmas cake again and advised she would discuss the club's participation with Ross before taking it to the Board for approval
