The Rotary eClub of Brindabella meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at 8pm Canberra/Sydney time. Our meetings include speakers, club business, project planning and more. Visitors are welcome.
Please note: this Zoom meeting is scheduled weekly, but the club will only meet scheduled nights.
There will be no online club meeting this week due to the changeover.
We are looking forward to the club's changeover in Wagga this weekend to celebrate, reflect, and renew.
Rotary International President-elect Olayinka H. Babalola called on members to Create Lasting Impact by making their clubs more welcoming, carrying out impactful projects, and allowing their Rotary experiences to transform them personally.
“Rotary has changed us. It has shaped who we are and made us better people,” Babalola said. “We often talk about changing the world. We talk about ending polio, about building peace. We do not think enough about how Rotary transforms us.”
Babalola, a member of the Rotary Club of Trans Amadi, Nigeria, described how joining a Rotaract club as a teenager enlarged his perspective beyond the limited, privileged outlook he’d once had. That change in awareness came from observing the lasting impact his club had in the community, particularly from teaching people to read and write.
“As members of Rotary, we share a vision of a better future,” he said. “To make this vision a reality, we must acknowledge and unleash the change within ourselves. We must focus not only on outcomes, but on impact.”
Change and impact are not the same, he added: “Change is only the beginning. Impact is what endures.”
On 30 May, the Wingecarribee Shire Council chambers in Moss Vale filled with debate as students from six Southern Highlands high schools took part in the 2026 Southern Highlands Model United Nations Assembly — debating real UN resolutions on everything from space weapons to rural poverty.
The winning team — Luc Hilaire, Christopher Leach, and Sam Skinner from Southern Highlands Christian School — will now represent the Southern Highlands at the National MUNA in Canberra in August.
The E-Club of Brindabella co-runs and co-sponsors SH MUNA alongside the Rotary Clubs of Bowral-Mittagong and Moss Vale, notably through the involvement of Alana Saunders as the assistant to the Secretary General for several years.

President's Letter
When I look back over my two years as President, what strikes me most isn't any single project or event — it's the consistency. Meeting after meeting, this club showed up. We strategised, donated, dispatched hygiene supplies to the Territory, raised money for mental health, and watched our exchange students grow. For a small online club spread across hundreds of square kilometres, that's a remarkable thing.
The Wagga cohort has been extraordinary — Jenny, Ros, Hayley, and others quietly contributing to RYDA, Race Days, Gears and Beers, and more, without much fanfare. Wendy and Rob brought Nepalese RAWCS projects to life and moved the board to act. Alana has kept supporting MUNA year after year. Lindell has held our connection to the next generation through Interact.
The foundations are laid. The UC scholarship, the Nepal project, the membership conversations — all ready for Hayley and the incoming board to build on. I'm handing over a club in good shape, to a President who will take it somewhere great.
