Wagga Cohort Catchup
Rotary E-Club of Brindabella Wagga cohort met for dinner at Romano's Hotel Wagga, it was great to catch with members for a lovely meal and a chat. We started our plans for our annual Trivia night which will be held 24 November 2023 we will be raising funds for Australian Rotary Mental Health research.

Meet a Member: Sam Zilinskas
My name is Sam Zilinskas and in case anyone is wondering I am not a distant relative of Ukranian President, Volodymyr Zelensky. I seem to get asked that a lot of late. My late Dziadzia (Grandfather) was a Lithuanian migrant, hence the unusual surname.  I am from Bowral in the beautiful NSW Southern Highlands. Originally from Canberra, my partner and I decided to make the move a few years ago and have never looked back.

I am in the process of completing my Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Laws through the University of New England. I decided to do this because I want to give back and make a meaningful contribution to society. It is also why I have become involved with a number of local organisations, including the Moss Vale Branch of the Liberal Party, establishing the Southern Highlands Residents Association and recently becoming part of the Rotary family.

I have enjoyed this new learning experience and want to give a shout out to Rob Uhl. Rob has gone above and beyond to show me the ropes and I am always amazed by the level of service she puts in.  I hope to be at least half the Rotarian she is one day. Whilst uni occupies much of my time, I intend to become more involved with the club once that calms down. However, I am always happy to step forward and help the team. Can't wait for Tullip Time again where I can get together with my fellow Rotarians showing off this great part of the world!
